Chhandika offers a Kathak immersion summer program at the Academy of Creative Arts. A unique opportunity for young Kathakas to immerse themselves in the study of dance, Indian music and culture, all in a fun and inspiring environment.
Students will be exposed to:
- Kathak dance technique, storytelling and expression
- Taal and rhythmical math, songs and North Indian classical music
- Indian history, philosophy and mythology
- Etiquette, public speaking and leadership skills
The summer camp will be taught by senior instructors of Chhandika, artistic director and renowned dancer Gretchen Hayden and guest instructors from the Chhandam School of Kathak (California).
